Insperity COBRA Coverage Self-Service Portal

Insperity offers COBRA participants an online administration system for electing, managing and submitting payments for their COBRA coverage.

Setting up your Insperity COBRA self-service portal.

To register for your account, you will be asked to supply the unique registration identification number provided in your new member notice. Please note you will be asked to supply a second piece of identification which will be your social security number (SSN). To expedite the registration process, please make sure you have this information with you before beginning the new user registration process.

Electing COBRA online.

After your registration is complete, you will have access to the online election page of the portal. You can review your election options under “Product Information.” During your initial or open enrollment periods you will be able to select your coverage by clicking “Add Election.” Be sure to verify your elections and dependents before selecting “Confirm And Add Election.”

Note, if you wish to only enroll an eligible dependent, please complete the paper election form enclosed in your COBRA packet.

Online payment options.

All one-time electronic payment methods are subject to a $20 convenience fee with each transaction. There is no convenience fee for participants who set up a recurring ACH payment option. To begin your payment process, log-in to your COBRA self-service portal account. On the homepage, you can either select “Make a Payment” to initiate a one-time payment or you can select “Recurring Payment” to schedule automatic payments. Online payments are available only for current amounts due. Any advance payments must be submitted by check. The online payment system will allow you to make a payment that is less than your full COBRA premium. However, any shortage must be paid by the last day of the grace period to retain your coverage. Otherwise, your payment will be refunded and your coverage terminated. Payments will be accepted as timely if made by 11:59 p.m., CST. Late payments will not be accepted.

Confirm your payment information before submitting.

Make sure your account information is correct and that you have sufficient funds or credit in your account before making payment. If your payment cannot be processed, your COBRA coverage will be terminated for nonpayment, unless the error is resolved by the last day of the grace period. It can take 1-2 business days to process your payment. Notification of any processing errors will occur by mail.

Delay in payment could cause disruption in coverage.

It takes approximately 5-7 business days for information on your payment to be transmitted to the insurance carrier and the carrier's records updated. If you wait to make a payment until the end of your payment period, this could cause the carrier's records to reflect a loss of coverage until your payment information has been received and applied.

Bank statement notation.

Your payment will appear on your bank statement with the notation "Insperity Holdings, Inc."

Refund process.

Any refunds due will be made via paper check and generally mailed within 2 to 3 weeks from the date your payment was received.
